Hi everyone
I would like to start off with saying how I am thankful for everyone here and how they and this website helped me and helped saving my babies numerous times. Thank you all.
I have 5 pekin ducks, 3 males and 2 females (I know the proportions is a bit risky but we didn’t know the gender until later of course. My husband is very keen on not having any more ducks specially because we live in a small apartment with no yard or roof)
First male was hatched January 1st, when we got him (he was left alone because unfortunately his siblings passed away which broke me)
After a lot of deliberation my husband surprised me with 4 ducklings hatched June 1st. (Turns out they are 2 males and 2 females)
My problem is divided into 2 sections
1- My oldest male is frustrated and wants to mate with anything right now. A bit aggressive and keeps running behind the females whenever he gets a chance which scares them and me.
2- My females are only 3 months but are asking for mating
I have separated the older male with another male who is big in size. And left one male who is clueless about anything in the world let alone mating. Females are constantly asking for mating. Is it safe for them? One is small in size however the other one is relatively big.
I have no idea how to proceed from here. The two sections have plenty of room and they have a swimming space to even dive so no worries about their happiness its very important to us to keep them healthy and happy.
Sorry for the long post but I thought more context is required to understand my dilemma.
Thank you truly in advance. I really appreciate your thoughts.
