Hi! I want to try fermenting feed for my chickens but read somewhere it's not for all feed types. Can you ferment Kalambach Henhouse reserve? How do you know when it's done fermenting?

yes you can ferment it. there isn't exactly a time where the fermenting is "done" but more so ready. usually anywhere from 48-72 hours is recommended before you feed.

Following! Today I presented our new-to-us pullets with fermented Kalmbach Chickhouse Reserve. They didn’t exactly fall all over it at first, but after checking for any remaining escapees from the dry version, they’re giving it a try.

I’m mainly doing this because I keep finding itty-bitty (dry) pieces left in the bowl, which I’m concerned might be the added micronutrients. I’m hoping that they are better integrated when the feed is fermented. 🤞🏻
