Fertilized eggs

Yes, many hatcheries sell hatching eggs. I've also gotten some on eBay or googling for breeders.
Do hatcheries tend to sell mostly male eggs? I've heard complaints that it seems so. I've seen eggs on ebay but that makes me nervous. How well have you done with getting eggs thru the mail?

Nobody can sex the eggs, so generally it's about 50% of each.

I've purchased eggs from eBay about 4-5 times, and from private breeders about 6-7 times. On eBay, just check their ratings.

Over all, this year has been bad for shipping eggs and I've heard that from a lot of people. I was lucky to hatch about 1/3 of each batch.

Shipping is somewhat temperature related. For example, you wouldn't want eggs shipped in the middle of a winter cold snap or during the extreme heat of summer. Many of the issues with shipped eggs come from rough handling of the box during shipping.
Have you looked for a local breeder?
If you list your general area, look in the Breeders forum https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/chicken-breeders-hatcheries.16/
or the thread for your area https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/find-your-states-or-your-countrys-thread.270925/
you may be able to find hatching eggs close to you:)

Has anyone purchased from Troy Reeves Poultry Farm? They have BCM chicks and I'm wondering if they are legit. Thanks!
