Fighting Female Ducks?

It would be a good idea if the little mallard had company as long as the KC doesn't pick on her and the Mallard is alert. Do your ducks have a shelter like a pen with a cover over top?Might be a good idea to keep them up for a few days and keep an eye out on the sky or around your area. Actually where the Mallard when this happened? Could she have been in an enclousure with chickens wire ?
My drake mallard mates by ripping the feathers out under the wings of the females. He does not bother to grab the mallard hens anywhere else and that is the only place the feathers are missing. It might be your drake, they do get carried away at times.

I do have her separated and in the house right now. I originally thought a predator too, but the more I look at it I can't figure out what predator could get to her that would do that. I also haven't seen any fighting or bullyinelg either. That's what has me so confused and why I am so surprised. I am wondering if I should separate the little khaki as well. She isn't much bigger than this little mallard.
Chances are that it is a predator and Muscovys and pekins (especially females) are known for there “protective mother instinct“ and have fought it off from taking “the baby”.... id bring the other little one instead too just to be safe....
