Need advice. We culled our rooster about 2 weeks ago as half the girls had bare backs and shoulders, he put a gaping wound on the side of one and was starting to attack me. Things were going okay. Now there are a lot of side fights going on in the hen population. I have 16 hens. I know the feathers won't grow back until molt. But their shoulders are getting bloody. One of my speckled Sussex was getting picked in the head until bloody by my Sapphire Gem( bare back&shoulders (same age batch) and my SLWyandotte that is now healed was in quarantine and is ready to go back but is being targeted by Sapphire Olive egger. I had the Sussex and SLW in a pen in the coop to reassimilate. The SOE and SLW were fighting through the cage both bloody combs. I have the SLW & SS back in the garage. I am at a loss that to do. The rest of the flock free ranges most of the day. I have an 8x8 coop, ample nesting boxes l, and a 7x15 covered run. I am at such a loss what to do with so many chickens with open wounds and so many individuals fighting with specific victims I have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated. It's such a mess.

Any time the pecking order gets changed there's some chaos for a while. Roosters tend to break up hen fights as well, so there likely some pent-up aggression getting released.

Things should sort themselves out, but feel free to put any bullies on a "time out" for a day or two.
