first egg from BC Maran

we got our first egg from our Black copper Marans today. It is beautiful very very dark. I would say it is at least a seven or an 8 on the maran chart. I am SOOOOOO Happy.

How old is your bc maran. I'm just wondering, got some pullets that are still babies but heard some bcm can take along time to lay. I was hoping not, just wondering. Oh forgot to add, that is a beautiful egg.

6 months old. she will be 7 months the 17th

To get them darker let them free range.. If you free range next spring you will have some of the daekest eggs you will ever see.
