First time hatching chicks and need your help with sex & breed quesses, PLEASE!

Very true. But every time that little fact goes out, people automatically assume that all chicks can be wing, or feather, sexed, which they can't, and I just prefer not to even go there in the first place!

Also, like everyone said above, don't try to vent sex your chicks. People in hatcheries get paid money to look into tiny chicken bums because they are experienced. They are cute and I look forward to seeing more pictures when they are older!

They never seem to see that part! Over on FB’s Backyard Chicken’s site, we see it all the time. The second someone says “I saw somewhere that you can do sexing by wing feathers”, post after post after post appears with these poor chicks getting their wings spread out.

Thanks for the tips and info everyone! I will update this thread with new pics at 6 weeks. I am sad that “Nora” is a rooster but I figured that she was. I think that she and one of my black ones are the roosters. We will wait and see!!
