Those can be splinted for correction if done early.
Unfortunately, even brand new they can be inaccurate. I used a buddies incubator for them once, they had tried a couple times and got only one or two chicks. I tested, of course, and found the temp was off by like 8°F!I hear ya. It was a brand new incubator. However if I put a hygrometer separate it is a 20% humidity difference. Temp is set per manufacturer to allow the temp to be 99-100.
