First time incubating silkie eggs

Debbie im starting to panic😭 my hydrometer reader just came i have popped it into the incubator but i think the incubator has been giving me false readings. The incubator is showing a steady temp of 37.5•C but the hydrometer is showing 35.2 maybe i just havent left the hydrometer in long enough for it to read properly its coming on to day 3 of incubation im so scared ive maybe harmed my little eggs💔
That's okay, Reece, you didn't harm them at all. 35% is low, but it's about what those that dry hatch run theirs at. Just add water or whatever you do to raise it a little bit. You're not far off from what I and most believe is optimum.

Its the temperature debbie i should have explained better
Sorry, I should have figured that out. You said hydrometer, which measures water, but I'm not used to celsius either. So converting that, yup, it's reading your incubator is off by 3 degrees celsius. I would give it an hour at least as some might be slow at updating.

Once you're sure it's reading accurately, then I'd up the incubator to 3 degrees higher. Be sure you're positive though as that's a huge difference!

Debbie thankyou id be lost without you lol my advisor always there to keep me right. My thermometer is reading perfect inside now at 37.5 which is the correct reading. I just hope that them sitting at 3degree lower didnt destroy the egg. They were sitting at the lower temp for 3 days. I will never ever trust an incubator reader again😂😩

Following because I also put my first batch of silkies in for the season, I started mine on 3/13 from my own hens. Last year we had low success with shipped eggs and my hens are finally old enough. Good luck can't wait to see how we do!

Awh debbie thankyou so much it has really put my mind to ease that u have given me so much helpful advice i cant thank you enough🥰
Today is day 19 not yesterday. So I took the egg tray out and the humidity had been 72-74. No cracks . I did lift the lid because I’m freaking out and so sad. I did hear some chirping. The humidity is down to 68. I don’t see any moment. What should I do?

Hi Debbie just a little update for you as you gave me so much advice and help! we are on day 13. I have candle my eggs and I can see lots of movement. I just want to take the time to thank you for all your amazing advice, I could not have done it without you. You really are an expert in your silky eggs. When will I put them into lockdown? Debbie? I am really confused. Thank you so much love Reece.
