This is my first time owning baby chicks. Previously, we purchased laying hens. Any ideas one sex and the breed? we purchased all 8 from a local farm and I’ll give you the dates and mom/dad’s potential breeds provided! I would love your thoughts, I know it’s early but I am just dying to learn all I can about these tiny babies!
.) they think it’s an Americana mom/RIR dad - hatched 8/22 (5 weeks) Has a very different comb than the others!
.) Brahma or Amaricana mom/RIR dad - hatched 8/23 (5 weeks)
.) Starlight green egger, Welsummer, or BYM (black copper maran/RIR) mom / RIR Dad - Hatched 8/30 (4 weeks)
.) (same as 3) Starlight green egger, Welsummer, or BYM (black copper maran/RIR) mom / RIR Dad - Hatched 8/30 (4 weeks) (it the one one the right in the 3rd picture. This one is the most skittish of all of the chicks.)
,6,7, & 8.)Mottled Bantam Cochins - Hatched between 8/30-9/6
5) largest so around 4 weeks
.) around 3-4 weeks
.) around 3-4 weeks
.) tiny so I’m thinking 3 weeks
