FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Oh yeah! Please let us know how that goes with the green eggs.
I purchased 2 Moss Eggers from Alchemist Farms (they sent us three), but unfortunately out of the 5 straight run chicks we got in that delivery, all three Moss Eggers turned out to be roos. I was stoked the two FBCMs were both females though! It made up for having no Moss Egger females.
I’ll be curious to see what comes from chicks of our Moss Egger roo though. The dark green egg gene will likely not pass on, but who knows. If anyone knows, please school me. 😋
beautiful Silkies, not familiar with the other breeds, will look them up, I usually try to buy from local sources, support the local farmers, however every now and again if im looking for specific poultry that I cant find in the area, I order from Murray McMurray Hatchery in Webster City, Iowa, healthy, live chicks, always true to breed, arrivals. prayers go out to you folks up further North from us in Miami, such brutal storms!

Hello fellow Floridians, can't seem to PM cmom to be added. New to chickens and BYC so happy to be here.
We have a very small young flock of 3 and no eggies yet.

How is everyone doing with the impending storm? Hope all is well. Also I might be joining the FL ranks at some point next year.
Doing just fine here, just south west of Gainesville. Great area. We moved here in late Aug 2022… had Ian a month later & hurricanes every year since… three this year. Helene was the most intense here, just because we were on the dirty side & landfall was 88 miles north west of us. Still no major damage. Always anxiety-provoking though & praying for everyone else in Florida! 🙏🏻

We are looking to move east of Milton FL. It wont be too much different from where I am in Texas. I'm on the coast as it is right now only about 20ish mins from Freeport TX and the beach. I've been through many a Hurricane and yes its all ways anxiety inducing.

your in Miami, mee too, just as an fyi there is a Tractor Supply Company on Pines Blvd and prolly 222 street going east 954-437-3071 in Pembroke Pines, right off of Okeechobee Road. they have an Information Notice Board near the rear of the store where the cattle, goat, and hog feed are, you'd see some cool posts there of people needing to rehome chickens, quails, rabbits and stuff, you should look up the store, good variety of products, bit pricey though, you should also look up Robbies Feed and supplies 305-247-1256 on Krome Avenue heading south NW 232 Street, its considered Homestead down there, agriculture farming, good Information Board there as well....good luck!
Wow, thank you for the information! I also know they sell baby chicks at Griffin's Feed Supply store in Davie, FL. I haven't looked into it yet since I want to provide homes for chickens in need. But this is great information you provided for me, thanks! :)

Brother has friends that are willing to help clear land and do install of needed things at cost near Pensacola and Milton. Its why we are looking there and found something that looks good.

Does it have good zoning for the purpose? Some FL counties make it hard and some are really easy.
