Food Themed Hatch-a-Long: 22 BRESSE EGGS

Pics
I plan to go to quail and then rabbits once all my chicken things are established.

I wouldn't do Cx either.
My favorite pet is a CX hen named muffin. She is always trying and will get your attention. She weighs at least 15lbs and is 2 years and 4 months old now (as of 2/03/25). I had 3 CX hens to over 22 months old. Muffin is the last but one of the best girls I've ever had. Contrary to published data my CX hens laid Jumbo and larger instead of small eggs. One had 3 yolks and a lot were double yolk. I'm still toying with the idea of breeding some CX hens back to a Dark Cornish rooster to get the foundation of a faster growing Dark Cornish and a white bird without the growth problems of the CX. I had intended to breed my CX girls to a Bresse rooster but never got the coop setup for AI with the CX hens.

That is so cool. You should definitely breed her back to a cornish male or Bresse - I know a lot of people would be interested in the resulting offspring. I know I would! It’s awesome that she has made it this long.

You had to hold her from excess feed though, correct? And make her go out and about, at least at first?

I hope they can give you enough single yolks for you to have enough to have a hatch!

Could we see pictures of her?
