foot caught in coop door!

my four week old chick got his foot caught in the coop door as my sis was going out and now it is swollen and he is limping. Now the bottom of it has turned a little green. Any suggestions on what this means? I don't think it is borken - sis feels terrible and insist on taking him to the vet first thing tomorrow

Yellow skin + blueish bruising from the accident = greenish foot, I would guess.

It might be broken, or just badly bruised. Poor little guy!

I agree...probably just bruised. Nice of your sis to want to take it to the vet tho. But I would waite a day or so....see how he does!

severe bruising can also cause infection (usually staph>same what causes bumblefoot) the vet might advise an antibiotic for this reason
