I hope you catch a lot!
I have caught quite a few then it seems like you have to change up bait, location, etc. They get wise I think.

If they would just live out in the woods and field, they could be happy and me too

I'll bait them with the same stuff they're eating. Quail feed. If they stop getting caught in the traps, I'll use a bit of peanut butter, then bacon.

I am perfectly willing to let them live their little lives somewhere else. Just like ants. If I see them in my garden or outside, I leave them alone. The moment they invade my home, it's Borax bait time to wipe out their nest.

I like the idea of catching many at once, but this one is either glue or live. I don't want them alive, but the glue traps are a slow, awful death. I may not like mice and consider them vermin, but I still want to kill them as humanely as possible.

I usually don't use the glue pad, they can't get out once they go in....and if they do get caught on a glue trap, I just bop them in the head and kill them.
