I just found what I have figured are eggs with end segments in droppings of at least one chicken. But, I have noticed a decrease in production, increase in feed and stinkier droppings. I don't have valbazen but I do have panacurr on hand, can I go ahead adn treat with that? If so, how long do I need to withdrawal eggs?

THanks

According to an abstract I read, Fenbendazole, when given at 20mg/kg for three days does kill one type of tape that chickens get. I'll find the link.

Dose of paste and liquid Fenbendazole 10% (Safegaurd or Panacur) would be th same. You would give your bird 0.2 ml for every 2.2 (1kg) of body weight. You would give it orally for three consecutive days.

Valbazen (albendazole)  is expensive, but it kills all type of chicken worms including tapeworm.

People should also know that while it's said to be a good wormer for chickens, it can cause death in pigeons, doves and crias. Additionally, it has been documented to cause aplastic anemia in other species.

I believe that the effective dose in poultry is 20mg/kg, FWIW.

Thank you guys for your information, the abstracts were helpful!

I went ahead and ordered some albendazole since it will kill most everything. I just didn't want to wait for it to arrive. Im thinking the only way I will be able to dose them is at night in the coop, so there shouldn't be any risk of something else getting ahold of it
