I've used a LOT of forums since I started doing this over 20 years ago. I don't know too many that use the term "fora".

Weather forecasters used to use this word but apparently got howled down by the ignorant barbarian masses (that is, those who were not forced to take a minimum of two years of Latin in high school!).
