I got a free chick from hatchery with my order. Its a black sex link that looks like barred rock with a guessing Black Aus or Giant. Sorry no picks to show atm he is Barred feathering coming in all black plumage no red and has black legs and yellow pads. Is this a Jersey Giant X Barred Rock? And if it is what size will he get and offspring would he throw from Light Brahma?

Had a white spot on its head to when it was fluff disappeared as feathers came in.Black Langshans do not in video,or JG or BA and Barred Rocks have yellow legs in pictures and cause I have never had any of those breeds I am at a loss as to what I have.

It sounds to me like you probably have a male Black Sex Link chick. Male BSLs have a white spot on their heads when they hatch and then develop barring as they feather out. If you can post a pic of it, we'd be happy to take a look at your chick. Trying to ID a chick without a photo is somewhat like shooting in the dark.

Agreed

Barred chicks have a white head spot, but it vanishes as they feather in. Dark legs (I'm assuming no feathers on legs, which rules out Langshan, they're not barred anyway) is associated with single barring, which means either pure barred pullet or black sex link cockerel. I'm guessing McMurray hatchery? In which case the free bird should not be a black sex link. What kind of comb does it have? They consider Dominiques a "rare" breed, so I'm wondering if that's what you have.

Dominique is certainly a possibility. A picture could help clear things up.
