Fresh Egg soaked in cold water

I kinda figured that you meant washed it in cold water. It should be fine if you use it right away when washed in cold water as there is a membrane inside the shell that will protect the insides from instant contamination, but you will want to check that is hasn't gone bad it you leave it sit for a day or so, even if it sits in the fridge.

I have a washcloth that is dedicated to dry wiping the eggs when I bring them in the house, to get off any loose dirt or bedding. It sits next to the egg carton. If the egg is soiled and needs to be washed, then it is washed in warm water and dish soap, dried with a paper towel, dated with a pencil and put in the egg carton in the fridge.

I wash fresh eggs when they come in from the coop, in warm running water, and refrigerate. If the egg is really filthy, it gets thrown out, as are any eggs cracked in the coop or before washing.
Too much learned about food safety issues! And food poisoning is totally not fun. Eggs are generally pretty safe, unless they aren't.
