Hello,
I hope I am posting this question correctly on your site!
I ordered a fresh turkey for a Tuesday before Thanksgiving pickup.
Today, the Friday before Thanksgiving I was told my “fresh turkey” would be ready for pickup TOMORROW!
My question to the forum is, will my turkey remain safe in the refrigerator before I start brining it on Wednesday morning next week?
One more question…
Can I brine a fresh turkey for more than one day and would that help to preserve the turkey?
Thanks in advance for your help and input.
Regards
Michael Johnson

:welcome :ya:yesss: Hello Michael and welcome to BYC. You found an Amazing Poultry Community to be a part of with many knowledgeable members who are willing to help you along your journey with any questions you may have. Enjoy :)

Depending on the Bringing method you are using? You could safely start brining it in the fridge now. I posted an awesome link below for you with lots of great members and information there to help you with your turkey and how to do it correctly.

IMO, processing meats, curing, brining, and smoking is a fine science and one of my other favorite hobbies I enjoy very much.

There is few different ways to go about brining poultry and all depends on what you are trying to accomplish? Best of luck and please keep us posted with how it turns out for you. :)
