My family calls it weird; my friends call it retarded...

...It may be either or both of those verdicts, but I call it fun...

...To catch snakes!

And I don't use any fancy tools to do so, either! All I do is pin the snake behind its head by lunging downwards and pressing my thumb against its skull. When it's immobilized, I pick it up and put it in a bucket. I do this when I know my dad is going to mow because I can't stand seeing the pulverized snakes that were unfortunate enough to get caught beneath the mower... Makes me cry...

...Anyways, above are some of the snakes I have caught. I know my snakes very well, and do not wish to be told this is a dangerous thing to do, because I already know that and have not yet been bitten by one of my snakes!

Do any of you catch snakes?

Wow. Are you sure you aren't Bindi Irwin? That's the only thing we don't have in common! My dad would have a heart attack if I tried to catch a snake! Very noble of you though! I'm sure the snakes will thank you for it! We don't mow our lawn,so that's not much of a problem. Do you let them go?

Lol, nope, it's me, Hannah! XD Yes, I let them go after I write down their identifying marks. This year I want to find a way to tag them so I can recognize them...

XD Love the idea, and I was already thinking of video taping myself catching one of my snakes, but I don't think I'd like an accent... it'd be more like a humorous show, like with Jeff Corwin...

If I were you, I would let your health care provider know what you are up to so they can make sure to have the proper anti-venom easily obtainable when you do get bit.

I don't mess with the venomous snakes... Actually, I haven't seen any venomous ones except in the zoo; we have bullsnakes and garter snakes...
