Cheep N Peep
Songster
I found a kitten hiding out under the coop yesterday morning. He's feral, and all skin and bones, poor thing. It looks like he's been on his own for a while, at least a week. We gave him some wet food and water and didn't leave him alone all day. He was always in someones arms, or eating another spoonful of Purina. He hisses at everything preemptively, (you know, just in case) or if we laugh or sneeze. Maybe giggles sound like hisses, or he has his pride to protect, but he hates 'em. And the confused, protective, wants-to-cuddle-the-kitten dog.
To us, the fur ball is an absolute sweet heart. Poor guy loves to cuddle and starts purring whenever someone opens his cage door to say hi. I can't tell for sure, but we're guessing he's 5-6 weeks old. Once he gets some muscle mass back (and a bath- yeesh, motor oil, dirt, a couple ticks, congealed cat food from the first feeding frenzy) and we can see if he has a good family cattitude, we will seriously consider keeping him.
The chickens are a little affronted that our interests have been directed towards their coop squatter.
