Frizzle question by a total Newbie

Hello!
I LOVE the look of the Frizzle. I WANT a white Frizzle. This is the entirety of my knowledge of this breed.
I searched but everyone seems to know more than I do and cant find a "Explain it like I'm a Kindergartner" thread for Frizzles.
Questions:
What exactly IS a Frizzle? As in - How does the frizzled feathers happen?
What do I need to know about breeding them? Hatching them? Raising them?
Personality - Are they docile or no? Do they play/share well with other breeds? Are there any breeds that shouldn't be raised with them?

I had a frazzled hen, a frizzle hen and briefly, a frizzle cockerel. The feather shaft is weaker, which lends to the curved look.

DO NOT breed two frizzles together. They can produce frazzles, which have very low quality lives. Temperament varies greatly
