fuzzi's Chicken Journal

Tried to get some pictures this afternoon, not a lot of cooperation!

The pullets (4.5 months old)

Joanna, Esther (yellow shanks), and Priscilla. That's Silas on the left.

Another one of Silas:

Very handsome, but his feathers are too orangey.

Martha looks like a molt in progress:

So, after the plumber left I decided to just stay home the rest of the day. I wanted to donate to the flood relief so I cleaned out two closets.

Not bragging, just trying to help. I was told by someone from the area that the people have nothing except the clothes on their backs. This stuff is in good condition, and they are welcome to it.
This will be appreciated. Get it to a church, firehouse or community center, they will have connections to get your donations to the correct places and people.

The outpouring of love and help, volunteers, donations, etc. from all over the country is just so overwhelming.

One of our church members is driving up to Boone once a week, bringing donations on his flatbed trailer. He's from the area, so is making sure they get to people who need assistance.

It's a 4 1/2 hour drive, God bless him!

It was chilly overnight, low about 40° F. When I checked on the flock after dark most had managed to get on the main roost. The Dominiques were on the A-frame but one hopped over to the main roost in the light from my headlamp.

Usually about 7 roost there. They knew it was going to be chilly.

And Naomi is looking bare... it's not the best time to molt, young lady!
