DifferentSo cutweed is plantain?
I realize this was months ago! WISH I had discovered this thread when I was struggling to keep spirits up & fears @ bay while in rehab for a broken (one way/side & dislocating the other - in Feb) ankle for a month back in March & April. A week in hospital before surgery, 2 weeks after & then 4 weeks in rehab in Southern Pines. Lots of mobility & health issues popped up. JUST now starting to walk "normally"...I think we'll go with second tree guy. He's not only going to remove three trees, but remove or grind all stumps, and clear all the vines and brambles on the other side of the fence.
Current views, starting from the far southwest corner:

Tree on right covered with wisteria doesn't need to come down, save my money he recommended. There's the remains of a tree and stump just to the left of it, those will be removed, along with the remains of the fence and all the growth.
This is just to the left of the first picture.

The tree just to the left of center is a sprout from a tree down on the fence. He'll remove it as well as the original tree and stump. He said there is enough room to get his mini Bobcat on the other side of the fence and clear it out.
Continuing down the fence line, parallel to the hoop coop:

The fence will be removed, tree down on fence has a pallet leaning against it, will be removed, stump also removed or ground. All the growth on the other side of the fence will be removed.
From the street, view of the property line:

Privet and growth and vines will be removed, pushed back into the woods. I've been trying to cut it back but all I have are hedge clippers and pruners. Many of the branches are above my head.
And then, these two trees will be removed:

A mulberry on top of our old shed. Once it's gone we can dismantle the building.
And this oak which worries me:

It's also on a fence line, but the north side of the property. Every tree that has fallen had done so towards the south. If this one falls it will severely damage my house. So it's going.
All that.
I'm excited, about finally getting it done. Once the trees are removed then I can get the fence fixed/replaced where it's been damaged. And then I will get a gate to finish enclosing my backyard.
And maybe get a couple goats...

Your chicken, real time, story has had many ups, downs & bumps along the way. It's been a treat to follow along.

I've gotten this far & wanted to ask ?s before I keep going & forget. As I've forgotten some others, earlier in your thread.
Did removing this tree line change water "flow" on or across your property? Especially during heavy rainfall or lengthy events lasting more than 1 or 2 days (not just Helene). How are you dealing with that? I guess you'll still need to see how snow &/or ice makes a difference this winter & next spring.
How did you find your tree service? Hubs & i are going through a major pain w/ finding someone/company. Several have set up appointments for eval, weather fine, then pulled no-show & can't get a hold of them (we've alternated who took time off work to meet with various companies). He's finally starting to understand why, years ago when I was looking for various services we couldn't do, I would get sooo frustrated & then be-atchily (new word?) angry.
A lot of things changed for us when we both "caught" COVID from our daughter & grandsons in June 2022. Her & their 3rd episode & our 1st... It was "mild" though recovery was longer than a cold or flu bug. Then 3-6 months later, it seemed our health just turned "sour". Things we could & did do before, we found we couldn't now... So yes, looking for many things. Not interested in selling our home/property (though two of three daughters have mentioned checking into "retirement centers"), just searching for the right companies to do some of the major project work... How we wish we'd found this place even 10 yrs earlier, so we could have done the projects here that we did on property we were leasing... Sorry, probably too much detail...

& now I've forgotten a couple other ?s I was going to ask. I'm sure they'll come back. Eventually...
Ok, back to reading.

Back in the ER.Glad you're here.
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle and other troubles. I hope you are able to find someone to help you out. It can be hard to find someone reliable at times.
@fuzzi how are you and Ron?
How's everyone else on The Fuzzi&Friends thread doing?
Looking forward to cold, snow/ice and or rain? I think we'll get snow (probably Ice). It's been cold for days, so whatever comes down is going to be frozen LOL But, looks like by Sunday, it should warm up a bit.
@Molpet what's it doing in the U.P. are you on the Great Lakes or do you get storms from those? I've only seen a few photos of that part of the country, but it looks so beautiful but hear it's COLD in winter.
