Addie dodged, but got a jagged, bloody bite on the withers. She backed up and bucked, striking him under the chin.

Dusky wheeled around and kicked furiously at Addie. "I said he's MINE!!" She threw herself onto Dour, landing halfway over his back, where she bit angrily into his flesh. "I LOVED YOU, YOU JERK!!!"

Dour snorted and bucked in an attempt to throw the crazy biting mare off. Hearing hoof beats, he stopped and looked up. Now, who!?

His gaze fell on a young grullo mare. It was Analiya, one of his fillies, and she looked...pregnant.

"Argh! Get off me, Dusky!" Dour reared and sent the mare tumbling to the ground behind him. Before he could stomp on her with a hind hoof, she had rolled out of the way and was struggling to her feet.

Dusky spotted Analiya and noticed Dour's suddenly stupid daze. "Yes, Dour, she's one of yours, and yes, she's carrying Titan's foal." She lowered her head and bucked, kicking him stoutly in the rear. "By the way, so am I!"

Analiya just stared at the scene, awestruck. She'd always had the impression Dusky loved her sire. It didn't look like it now.

Ash, drawn by the commotion, appeared behind Analiya. "What's happening?" Cinders peeked out from behind her dam. "What is it?"

Dusky stood, panting, glad for the break. Dour stood stark-still and stared, glared rather, at Titan's mares, some of which were his former mares AND his offspring.

(thank you. whenever I count, I usually forget somebody. that's 7 mares, 2 foals and 2 possible mares. Nice! They wouldn't let me go to church, what with a sore throat)

Black Ice, with Sleet tagging behind, apparently had no knowledge of the fight. All she was interested in was returning to that extremely lush grazing area before Dusky did.
