Gender guess 1 month Ayem Cemani

[Fluster Cluck Acres]

This is my straight run Ayem Cemani chick from a local breeder. It’s my first AC. Her name is Lenore, and I’m currently leaning toward pullet. She was hatched 2/27. She’s a shy and chill chick, quiet, not very adventurous. Her only joy in life is dust bathing. (She doesn’t even like snacks!) She merely tolerates the existence of other living beings. She very much has a Wednesday Addams vibe about her, lol!


Here she is in a pile up (the other chicks commandeered her dust bathing spot much to her annoyance) with 2 younger Marans mixes (suspected cockerels).
Here are a couple pics of her around 2 1/2 weeks old.

I think this could go either way, although I'm slightly leaning cockerel. But, it is young to know for sure.

Yeah, I agree. The back feathers are very sharp.

I will have to try and get some more tomorrow. I don’t think she’s developed gender specific feathering yet.

Updated pics. 5-weeks. I’m still leaning pullet. Maybe just because my other cockerels are more obviously male, or just because k really want her to be female, lol!

Id say a pullet for her

My Cemanis looked like this at 2 weeks and at 3 their combs were 2 times bugger

I'm not familiar with ACs, but I have 9 pullets 5-6 weeks, assorted breeds. Comb size on the straight combed ones is about the same.

I think pullet, though it's a bit early to know for sure. Update in a couple weeks if you still can't tell.
