Gentling a rooster

I would just rather have a rooster that respects me. Rojo never blocks me, never gets in front of me, always moves out of my way, never tidbits or dances at me. He does not treat me as if I am a hen or rooster. And that is as it should be, IMO.
I SO wish any of my boys did like that. But, they all have the same daddy. Rhode Island Red. All their mothers are barred rocks. I was hoping that would help chill them out. But, we're gonna cull the meanest and then let the other, separated one in with the others and see how it shakes out. Then the worst of those two will have to go. Only 10 girls, so we can only keep one boy.

Thankful for this post! I have 3 boys and one girl who are just coming up on 18 weeks. Hatched by me, in an incubator and raised together. The boys are starting to fight. They're in with 9 older females and their one sibling little girl. I'm gonna try this with the one picking fights and see if he can't chill out. He's sweet with people and I don't want to have to cull him!
How did that go?
