getting started in NC

My suggestion for sure, is to have a coop first!
We continued to work out everything else once
they had a safe and secure home. In fact, they are
13 weeks old and still have to finish the nesting boxes.
Good luck, it's the most fun I have had since the kids
were born. Which is why we got chickens in the first place.
The kids flew the coop, time to coop something else up.
And again, thank you for protecting our country.
GOD bless the USA!

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. yes, i have the plans for the coop worked out, just not the $$ to make it happen quite yet. that is the delay. so if anyone knows of anyone willing to near enough donate some lumber....LOL

btw to cravenchx - cows and goats both have to be pregnant before they give milk - goats get better forage conversion, have milk that doesn't need homogenized, not to mention i would rather deal with a buck goat than a bull on a yearly basis.

congrats to everyone from the fair as well! i showed cattle in high school and miss fairs from that side. i am really looking forward to all of this!

thanks again the warm welcomes!!
