Ginkgo fruit

I read that eating fruit will halt egg production. I am not familiar with Ginkgo fruit. Apparently too much acidity is not good.

I've never heard that about fruit. My chickens have been eating dropped fruit forever. Everything from persimmons to muhlberries to pears and even poke berries.
We used to have a big hen house with 100 leghorns right nest to a huge orchard. The chickens foraged among the peaches, apples and pears all day.
None of that had any impact on egg production.
Certainly, if they were fed nothing but fruit, egg production would stop since they would be getting no protein.

My chickens love fruit. I don't think it has decreased egg production. Ginkgo nuts are supposed to have some possibly toxic effects if too many are eaten. The only pullet who was sampling the Ginkgo fruits has stopped eating them. Love the tree but am glad most of the fruit has fallen.
