You know, you can't sit duck and chicken eggs at the same time. chicken eggs hatch on time, day 21 or 22 most always. Ducks are more variable. However, with a sitting muscovey, if you put the duck eggs first, and EXACTLY 7 days later sit the chicken eggs, they should hatch the same day. Actual birds are better hatchers. I'd take the chicks away though.I hope so. Shes pretty good so far,Your right, I need silkies / muscovies. Think I'll go muscovies, keep hens (and maybe a drake) for eggs, and if hty ever go broody they get chick and duck eggs. I think I have my mom convinced that the eggs taste good when they are fed grain diet so I can sell duck eggs

I could try silkies, but they are always soooo low on the pecking order I would worry for them protecting the chicks!
