I raise my own mealworms and over the last month or so I've had a growing problem with gnats in the mealworm bins. Specifically, they're in the bins with the adult beetles and I don't know how to get rid of them. I tried making traps with apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap but the gnats are not attracted to this. Truthfully, I'm not sure what kind of gnats I'm even dealing with. Fungus gnats maybe? Does anyone happen to know what the gnats are and if there's something other than apple cider vinegar that they would be attracted to?

I have found that zevo bug traps work very well.
I actually have one of those and it's plugged in near the containers, but the gnats don't seem to want to come out of the containers and towards the light. If I can get the gnats out, they just fly right back in there and ignore the light.

you could try setting up a fresh bin with fresh bran (or whatever you use for the substrate) and transferring the adult beetles individually by hand. It will be time consuming, but it should move just the beetles, then you can dispose carefully of the existing infested bin and the gnats with it.

I recently had to do this with some super-worms.
