Good morning from North Carolina.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

  • I am on year 2. First year I started with 4 adult hens that I took care of for a friend while they were out of the country. Since I built the coop, I built another and got my own flock and gave theirs back.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

  • 6 total - backyard city flock

(3) What breeds do you have?

  • 1 - White Leghorn
  • 2 - Olive Eggers
  • 1 - Bantham
  • 1 - Wyandotte
  • 1 - Easter Egger

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
  • Eggs
  • Getting the kids to learn about homesteading

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
  • Bicycle Racing
  • Lacrosse coach
  • Beekeeper

  • SW/Electrical Engineer
  • No other pets
