Goose diarrhea?

My one goose wasn't pooping much at all but now she has the worst diarrhea. It's a very dark green, almost black, but without the urate (she did poop pure urate out before though) and it smells awful.

She seems fine otherwise? Her vent is a mess though and seems very itchy. I think she's just clearing things out but is there anything I can do?

That doesn’t look normal.
Could you post a picture of her rear?

What feed is she on? Has she been eating anything like blackberries, charcoal, or dark soil? Does she still have droppings this dark or has it gone back to normal?

I couldn't get a picture of her rear. She's on Purina Duck feed. I think she's been eating some of our dirt/clay. From what I saw today her droppings look normal but aren't as big and kinda hard

So sometimes in the heat of summer birds will drink a lot more water. This gives them runny poop. They may not be ill… my geese are also occasionally doing the “oil slick” poops.

Those look more normal, if she’s acting fine and not losing weight I’d say it was just something she ate and she should be fine.

I know this is a bit old but I was able to get a picture of her rear and she's still pretty messy

What breed is she?
How often does she bath and preen? Is she able to reach all the way back there? How often does she defecate? Is it average or frequent?

If everything’s normal it might just be because of her anatomy, it looks like she has some fairly big lobes that extend all the way up her rear so is causing her to have feathers slightly blocking her vent when she goes.

She's a Toulouse. She seems to preen and bath frequently as they have two pools. I'm not sure how often she goes but I think it's average, maybe a little less. I watch her preen sometimes and she can turn to reach but it looks like she struggles a little (lifting her leg or over extending) but she seems itchy.

Is there something I could do?

Can you explain more about her itchiness? Is she scratching a lot? Is it all over or just one spot?
