I have a week old female gosling that suddenly isn't able to walk or stand. Feels like she's running a fever, her beak and her feet are hot to the touch she is acting like she's shivering, she is cleaning herself and talking but she hops like a frog instead of walks.

This is my first time owning geese and the male is fine. I was feeding them spinach and non-medicated organic duck feed.

She still talking to her partner and me but she wants to randomly fall asleep she's also squeaking if I pick her up. The biggest problem is that she can't walk and she seems to be cold but she's very hot to the touch.

Please help me what do I do?

Do you have any other birds? Does your flock have a history of illness or have you seen occasional coughing, sneezing, snicking or facial swelling in your flock?

What brand of feed is it?

Have you noticed any other symptoms? Like wheezing, strange sounds from her abdomen? Any weirdly colored droppings?

If it isn’t an illness it could be a vitamin issue.
If you can get her niacin do so, a liquid B complex with poultry nutri drench, or rooster booster poultry cell would also be a good idea.

Sometimes one baby will be deficient and others won’t, this can be do to a different metabolism, some underlying health issue, or if the mother was nutrient deficient when she laid the egg.

These are my only geese. They have not interacted with any of the other flocks that I have or birds around although I have fed them grass out of my yard so I guess they could have come in contact with wild bird poop. She has no breathing problems she has no wheezing no discharge no sneezing no coughing none of that stuff.

The male is perfectly fine so far and I'm hoping that that doesn't change. I can add a picture of what I've been feeding them as well as been feeding them some spinach from the store which is organic. I gave her some honey water and it seems to be a little bit better I had to order the niacin and my husband's going to be grabbing it on his way home from the town that he works with which is 35 minutes away from me.

Right now she is laying underneath the heat lamp which she can get in and out of if needed it is set to 95°.

None of my other birds that I deal with everyday have had any symptoms I did lose a hen recently but it turned out that we had really heavy rain and it washed pigeon poop from the pigeon coop down towards that coop and I only lost one hen from toxicity there but the rest are fine. As I said the geese have not left the house and I've been making sure that I wash my hands for fear of getting them sick.

If the store has any try to get a liquid B vitamin complex. Niacin is critically important but often times if a gosling is deficient in niacin they’re also deficient in the other Bs.

I ordered this. Hubby got it and we just dropped a few drops into her mouth and put a waterer with it in their brooder.

Last night around 3am she began having seizures. She's breathing, talking and cleaning herself, was able to stand a bit.

Is there anything else I can do for her?
Keep giving her the vitamins. Sometimes seizures are a result of a thiamine or pyridoxine deficiency.

Other causes would be from some sort of bacterial or viral illness causing encephalitis or encountering toxins like lead, chemicals, mold, or toxic algae.
If it’s bacterial Baytril might be something to try if you have any on hand but for the others, the best chance she has is being seen by a veterinarian, however prognosis isn’t good of it’s lead or a virus.
