We are trying to keep it moving along without too many gaps in timeline, but life gets in the way.

Got a little work done this weekend, between rainstorms and funding issues.
Did get verification that we had not reached the vertical height needed to separate the coop area from the machine area.

Put 7 posts in the ground, after the necessary geological surveys of every location. Plan was to install the ladies roosting bars and get rid of the thrown together stand they’ve been using.
So we shored up the donkey stall separation and installed the roosting bars, nice and level at about head high.
Do I have to show you what bedtime proved to us..? Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so …

And from the other angle…

Then, just so they can rub poop into the insult…

Did install supports to the roosting bars this morning, since the turkeys had the one bowed down and wobbling.
Thinking of just putting shade cloth on top of the wall to allow air flow and keep the ladies on their side and have to engineer the mount for the fan as having it on the ground allows the back to get full of feathers and dirt.
Will update again next weekend, if we accomplish anything.
and I’ll leave you with Compliance Rooster taking a nap after dutifully watching the activity of the day.

Due to the impending storm that is on track to impact several parts of Florida my wife got to work yesterday and today. She finished in closing the west wall of the barn.

Now the girls will be protected from the worst of the rain and what could possibly be a Cat 1 hurriquake by Monday. Only issue is the north wall to the donkey stall, and she might have to put up a tarp there for now.
Because of my job I’m stuck south working the storm.
Hopefully the flooding won’t be too bad.

Our Lites are not thrilled with being closed off from wherever they want to go. They are very judgmental of all the work she has done for them.
Not completed yet , but is a safe place for them.

Minor update..
Succeeded in hanging the fans in the barn. After the ladies inspected the cleanliness and verified the wiring was correct, we where given the authorization to relocate their cooling apparatus for the benefit of the flock.

Of course , the Ladies are not happy having the fans off the floor where they can sit directly in front of them. A chosen representative gave us a demonstration on their unhappiness with it.

Even our normally docile turkey girl showed her displeasure.
My wife did finish the painting outside while I was away this week.

Compliance rooster helped her.

Still have some modifications to make inside the barn, but it’s slowly coming together.
