Grafting chicks on to a broody

Ideally, you would want the chicks to be a day old or less when giving them to a broody, but what's the oldest you've been able to sucessfully do it? I have a first time broody (going on 2 weeks) that I want to break with some chicks. I can pick up some golden brabanters but not until Monday. They will be 4-5 days old by then. I have some creams on order that I would happily substitute the goldens for if I can make it work. Wait for the creams or go for it?

I'll bet five day olds will be fine. Stick them under her after dark and check to see all goes well the next morning.
