There are a considerable number of cherry orchards along the east side of Flathead Lake.Hmm. I picked cherries up around Flathead Lake. Gorgeous country up around thataway. And SCRUMPTIOUS cherries! Lamberts, not Bing.
This one was pick your own. We were supposed to strip the trees. Strip them! Of fruit. I was with 8 or 10 other people. They picked then moved on to other trees. After a while I could not hear them any more and thought I must be very slow and kept picking my one tree. End of the day, the owner came out and looked at what was done. He looked at my tree, took my money and said, "YOU. You may come back and pick my trees any time." Then he turned to the others and said, "Thanks for coming, Folks."There are a considerable number of cherry orchards along the east side of Flathead Lake.
Queen Anne pie cherry?I had a very small cherry tree in Mi. I planted it between the sidewalk and the road. I got the biggest kick every single year w/0 fail someone would come along and help themselves. The moment a cherry hit the back of their throat they were spitting it back out! hahaha I guess it was way too sour for human consumption!
It was a stray from my fathers yard that he said a bird planted. I never did find out.Queen Anne pie cherry?![]()
