Yes, but nicotine doesn't cause cancer, directly. Indirectly to cigarette smokers. Tobacco does cause cancer.

Quite right. Like, nicotine patches satisfy the craving but will never give you cancer. Cigarette smoke is full of horrible things like tar and other nasty chemicals, those are what foul up your lungs and give you cancer. And everybody around you as well.
But if you go to the Dr, they say almost every chronic condition you have is worsened by tobacco.
