That makes me shiver! Going online to buy supplies, I'm surprised at the variety available whether it's cost or quality you are looking for. And free shipping!I think these days there are more DIY products available. Maybe because so many people renovate RVs to live inWe heat with wood. Hard to keep the house temp under 80 most of the time. When we moved in the house was like a freezer. No caulking around the windows or doors, no drywall on half of the walls, just foam insulation. The place was as drafty as a barn and immediately changed our opinion of 'Amish Craftmanship'. We bought cases of caulk after we had rain pouring into the house via a leaky window and went to work. 100 sheets of dry wall later along with new siding on the north side of the building along with new insulation and the house is snug to the point that we have to sometimes crack a door or window to vent off some heat.
As for the flu shots. I set down one day and figured out how many years I got the flu in spite of taking the shot and asked myself why? I could only come up with one or two years that I had stayed healthy all winter. When Covid hit I got in the habit of wearing a mask, taking vitamin D and doing a lot of hand washing/sanitizing and so far so good she says with cross ed fingers and toes...eyes...whatever.
Does everyone on here get the flu shot? I didn't.
I got the shrink plastic for most of the windows. The kitchen sink window, I got thicker plastic and it's going on the outside because I want to cover the frame to. There is one other window that I want to do on the outside.Sorry if it doesn't look nice but if I spend less on oil this winter I will use it on home improvements next year. My capital one card gave me a 10% rewards on the heater plus I got a discount for online purchasing. I'm trying to capitalize on my rewards cards so I'm purchasing between Walmart, Amazon and eBay. I'm not finished buying yet. The door between DH room and the kitchen has a 3" gap on the bottom. For temporary till I decide what to get, I wrapped a piece of cardboard in fabric that matches the door an stapled it on the bottom of the door. DH has been heating the world the last couple nights!!What
else did you get? My dogs keep scratching out the insulating tubing around the door.
Same logic in waiting until at least mid October is practiced by my doc. To early and they may even change the vaccine that is needed for the year. I get mine in a couple of weeks this year. Appointment is made as a regular wellness check.I've never gotten the flu shot but I had never gotten the flu until last year. (in 30's)
This Jan I was sick for two months with first Covid and then the flu. It was like they fed off each other and the flu wouldn't clear up.
We experienced Covid twice before the vaccine and twice after, the shot made it bearable. And I still remember being afraid to fall asleep for fear of choking on my own fluids. So every year for me.
Now this month I'm going to get the flu shot. It never made a lot of sense to me as a less effective vaccine, however my Doc tells me it's really gotten better in recent years - provided we waited until October - and I do trust her, she's extremely competent.
