Granny's gone and done it again

DH and I went out tonight and searched for comet C2023. We walked up the road to get a clear view of the horizon, found the comet, took a bunch of pics, came home and while I was locking up the coop, DH snapped this pic over our pond. This comet won't be back in our neighborhood for another 80,000 years. Bit mind boggling.

This one was taken up the road about a quarter of a mile. I'm sure our neighbor was wondering 'now what are those crazy old people doing?' Nah, they are only a year younger than we are, lol. The second picture is a bit clearer and shows the head of the comet better.

We looked but never did see it. :hit
It's not easy to see with the naked eye. We were getting glimpses of it, the tail was a bit clearer than the head for some reason.

If you want to try again, go out by about 7:30. Find Venus and Aldebaran in the western sky. The comet is almost dead center between them. If you have a set of good binoculars, 750s, you can find it. We were using our cell phone and a Lumix camera shutter speed 5 sec F1.4 iso 200.
