He was large enough he was overhanging enough he should have even missed my back side. Dropping a little on my back wouldn't have upset me. I just loved their interactions.Ouch! I used to raise house birds and I know they aimed for the eyes. Your lucky the bird didn't poop in your hair!
I used to draw blood at convo homes. I was just in and out. Didn’t know they were so caring. Nice to know.Nobody is forgotten. Residents without families are bought for by the employees or by the social dept where there is a fund for such things. We had a large Christmas party for the families and residents. Employees provided refreshments, home baked cookies, cakes, etc. Santa handed out gifts and employees helped distribute them. Everyone had a good time.
We always expected our diabetics to need a lot of insulin that day. They all wheeled back to their rooms with their laps loaded with loot and food with a cookie in their mouths but nobody fussed at them.
The one funny memory I have is the little old lady with Alzheimer's who came by the nurse's station trying to drink a bottle of fingernail polish. Not really funny but yeah, it was, especially the way we scrambled to intercept that bottle before she could do herself damage. Found out how fast two nurses in their 50s could move.
Never could understand why anyone would give a lady with Alzheimer's disease who didn't know her knee from her elbow a manicure set complete with polish remover and polish. It's like...duh.
They always appreciated pretty lap robes, afghans, warm sweaters, socks and the like along with new clothes and bedroom slippers as very few wore shoes.
Funny I've been thinking about the Christmas party where I used to work the last few days. Always a festive time that put you in the Christmas spirit.
Don't worry, @Granny Hatchet, they will spoil Tom rotten.
How many days does he get in there? I don’t think they can toss him outTil they toss him out anyway.
they said they can and will if he didn't cooperate with PT IDK how many days he getsHow many days does he get in there? I don’t think they can toss him out
The other option is take him for a few days and then have his dr readmit himGranny are they saying for certain that he will only be there for 30 days? Frankly, I've never heard of that happening. Like I said earlier, if he already has Medicaid that will kick in automatically after 30 days. They are probably already filing both Medicare/Medicaid for him now although the latter usually doesn't kick in until after Medicare's 30 day pay period. It's been a while so I'm not 100 percent sure.
IMHO I would talk to his doctor and see what he recommends. Or talk to the Social Services Dept at the nursing home and see what they can tell you.
He isn't a veteran The house Dr or the nurse doesHmmmmm. Thinking they aren't wanting to lose him but not committing to keeping him either.
Once again. Talk to doc. Is the VA taking care of him or is the facility medical director doctor doing it? The facility medical director is usually very willing to talk to families.
You can also call around yourself. Remember. They are working for you, you are NOT working for them. Don't let them push you around, Granny. You are his wife and his best advocate.
Also, I never refused a call from family if I was passing meds, neither did the nurse I worked with. Sorry, that is a bunch of BS.
Not sure they gave me the # of days but all the rest of it, Yes. They said they didn't have any Medicaid beds
