Granny's gone and done it again

What a great day we had today. Church this morning of course. But then we all came back this afternoon to sing Christmas carols at a local nursing home, which was a lot of fun! We got to sing twice as they have residents upstairs and also some downstairs so we did two whole programs. They loved it. Then we went back to the church for cookies, hot drinks and games. It was so much fun.

I always wanted to go caroling but never got to...

at the nursing home I did. I don't think it had anything to do with the house. It was one of those square things like, from a computer you sign. They have them at Walmart for when you pay by check you sign it there.
Oh well that’s good but you really should get copies of everything you are signing. And read them first.

I thought he was a Veteran. Sorry. Nurse does what the doctor tells her to do. House doctor is the boss then and the one you need to talk to. Talk to the nurse about his medicines and daily care but talk to the doctor for everything else. If you can't get him on the phone find out when he makes rounds and park yourself in his room till he shows up.

Never heard of such a thing. Usually people with an Alzheimer's type of dementia reach a point where they will not cooperate with much of anybody. They don't kick a resident out for that. Just more proof that they need custodial care.

@h2oratt when my mother was dying she was hospitalized for 30 days. Doc set down with me and told me they were going to have to discharge her to either my care or a nursing facility for at least 24 hours. She could be readmitted then. She was in frank kidney failure so they filled her full of liquid that she had to drink that would lower her potassium levels and I had an ambulance take her home. She lasted 36 hours at home before going unconscious and took an ambulance ride back to the hospital. She died there the next night.

So yeah, a 24 hour discharge would work.
How sad. Sorry you had to go through that. Was she on dialysis everyday.
