Granny's gone and done it again

No, I agree its not but its also not like they were giving me that option either. They have no bed for him. No one did for Medicaid and he has used his Medicare days. I am more then willing to do what needs to be done however I believe some of this is not needed. His sugar was under control before at his maintenance dose. His BP meds to raise his BP was treating him right. COVID got him in the place he is in now. He knows he doesn't have long in this world and he wants to spend his days here at home. Who am I to tell him he cant?
No, you can't do that but with good care he can have more days than less.

Diabetics change. It isn't a static disease. What he needed before he went into the rehab isn't what he needs now.

Trust me, you can do the blood sugar testing. And as for checking his b/p, IMHO twice a day or depending on how many times a day they want him to take medicine, twice a day should be adequate.

Ask his doctor about getting him home health care via a visiting nurse or....if he is really that bad, Granny, I think Hospice has been mentioned to you before. Look into it if you have to. It really is a wonderful service that would take a load off of you.

I was wrapping a package for the mail. It takes a lot of packing if you don't want to deal with broken things. My last package arrived damaged and the package before that the lady thanked me for packing so well. She saw in her door bell camera that the delivery driver threw the package.
I double box my items just in case it gets handled by a careless delivery person!
I know what you're talking about. I heard they regularly throw boxes a long time ago. Even when i ship cookies to my family they are in individual cupcake holders (each cookie), then wrapped in plastic then bubble wrap around that inside the cookie box and then bubble wrap around each box. I mail 4 dozen cookies to 7 or 8 homes and it's tedious packing them, but so worth it. They are never broken.
Like shipping eggs
OMG...I ordered hatching eggs from Florida. Out of 13 eggs, 3 were broken outright, and only 1 was viable enough to hatch. And they were wrapped very well in soft foam forms. It was a long way, a lot of jostling and they probably tossed the boxes.
I’m in so much pain 😭
I am so sorry. Wish there was something you could do about it. I personally have very good results from 800 mil ibuprofen. That is prescription dosage, but if I don't have that I take 4 of the OTC ibuprofen. Of course I'm not recommending any medications for you....just saying what I do. :)
Robert went out and shoveled around the van and a couple hours later we saw a neighbor out there with his plow! I went out to thank him and gave him $20 for gas. Told him what it meant to me. He was happy. Then I talked to Toms nurse. You wouldn't believe all the things she wants me to do. sugar check 5xs a day 4 sliding shots and one long acting at bedtime. Go buy a BP machine and check it 4 xs a day to know if he needs his med or not. Stay with him when he walks.. It just keeps going.
What a great neighbor!!! :love I'm so sorry you have such a challenging time coming up. I know it can be scary, but you'll be surprised at yourself. Somehow we find a way to step up when we have too. Wishing you all the courage and strength you need for the journey!!! 🙏
exactly
I'm excited too just scared I cant keep up
I understand. I'm sure you will. Is there anyone in your circle who can step up to help you? Will there be a visiting nurse checking on him? Keeping a prayer in my heart for you.

I was thinking about all of this before you scheduled to bring him home. Went through all of this with my mother.
