Granny's gone and done it again

Cooking for two is hard. I always seem to have some left overs. I usually reheat things once then it gets tossed in with the dog food. Nothing goes to waste. Meat is the same although I tend to go by the 5 day rule myself as long as it has been refrigerated and not left out on the counter for any length of time. Food is jus too danged expensive anymore not to get your money's worth out of it.
I hear that. I'm cooking for two as well. I freeze most leftovers in lunch sizes, but this last year we both stopped eating lunch. So now I have a freeze dryer, so when I make too much of something, it is set up for long term storage. Always a good idea to have emergency food on hand. You never know.

I would LOVE a freeze drier. What kind do you have?

Because I made it Tuesday? That’s 4 days already. Tomorrow is 5 days. I guess that technically gives me 2 days not 1 (today and tomorrow). But still. No way I can eat it that much.
Make soup
It’s covered in mayonnaise. I could try rinsing it off.

Awwww. You needs you some birds, girl! They are wonderful left over eaters plus they turn refrigerator offerings into delicious eggs.
Yeah I know. I had them from like 2015 through 2022 when we moved. I loved them. I even hatched chicks several times and had roosters, etc. I even had quail at one point too. Both were amazing. I had goldfish too first inside then moved outside to a huge like 110 gallon stock tank. I had parakeets too. And a cat and dog. I had everything hahah it was amazing. Then we moved and also I’ve been in and out of hospitals and slowly everything’s been rehomed except the dog. My dad doesn’t want chickens at the new place. Despite loving them when we had them. IDK.

We bought the Harvest Right, the smallest one works great for us. I just fill trays with leftovers and put them in the freezer and when i have 4 full trays I pop them into the freeze dryer. So much food used to go to waste that is now turned into emergency supplies.

The cosequin comes in capsule form, so I open it and put it in a little broth for Pipsqueak. He will absolutely not take a pill no matter what I wrap it in.
I didn't. I have to check it out. I wish she could tell me when and where it hurts. As soon as she figures out I'm hiding pills then she stops eating at all. I hate giving the baby aspirin because I'm really not sure of the dose. She eats so very little, I also want to make sure she doesn't take it on an empty stomach and end up with ulcers

Chickens would LOVE IT! Seriously love it the blessed little cannibals that they are.

It's like that here. The last time Ben got into it with one of his brothers (His brothers push him around, he's alpha, knows he's alpha and only takes so much before he puts one of them in their place) and wound up tearing a two inch laceration in his ear our vet was packed and suggested we call around and see if anybody would sew him up for us. I called every vet in a 30 mile radius of us and got nowhere. Pretty discouraging. We finally had to take him in and sit with him till they could work him in as an emergency which would have cost us double. Luckily they had a cancelation and took him in as a non emergency.

Both of our 12 year olds have arthritis so the aspirin is a Godsend when it gets bad for them. The thing with it is that you have to be careful with it as it will upset their stomach and you always have that bleed risk with it but crap, it's the same with all NSAIDS.

Can they do surgery for Betty to correct the hip dysplasia? She's a young girl to be looking at spending the rest of her long life in pain.
Yes, I'm leary of giving baby aspirin. But it seems half of one might not be working. They couldn't see anything on the X-ray so didn't discuss options. It may be her knee. When I bathe her and pick up her back leg, she doesn't bend then but rather shifts her back to the side. I hate taking all these X-rays and paying for them when they can't find anything. He very will get the X-ray from the ER and maybe they can see something. I've been careful about the kind of exercise she gets. I wonder if the cold has something to do with it

Another cloudy day with some flurries. The snow melted so we are ready for the next 3-6" they are predicting for tomorrow. Can't complain, it melts each time before the next comes. It's the cold that is more difficult to tolerate and next week they want it in the teens and below zero.

I have birds and squirrels in the snow on TV. They are eating, gathering food.... Some mental stimulation for the puppies.
Anyone watch fish for relaxation? I added some fish apps to the Roku TV and between watching them and listening to the music, it helps DH sleep
I kept fish tanks since I was 12. I recently took down the tank I have because I just had too many things to care for. Lots of others here have tanks.
