I sell all the extra eggs my free range hens produce to this lady I found on craigslist. I give her 2-3 dozen a week, all fresh from that week. I collect them daily and keep them in a cool place then the day of delivery I gently wash them. So she just told me that the past two weeks she has gotten 6 eggs with a green yolk, doesn't smell rotten, but tastes bad. I have never heard or seen of this before with my hens. Apparently they are rotten. Is this lady lying to me or is this something that happens? All my hens are fed a healthy diet and are in good health. Any suggestions are welcome!

I agree ^^^^ you need to ask her for a picture so that you can try and find the problem, also that way if she was lying about this she wouldn't be able to take it any further. x

What do they eat on a daily basis? If she's not lieing then is it possible they ate something to turn the yolk a color and produce a bad taste? Not sure I know of what would turn a yolk green but is it possible?

I googled because this was interesting to me...
Cottonseed meal can cause it.. which is frequently in cow feed... and possibly too much alfalfa, fresh lush spring grasses being eaten in excess as they are nice and fresh from winter. And also acorns.... someone also mentioned styrofoam.... they chickens ate it, and had green yolks for a week. Who knows! lol
Any of those sound like a culprit?
The good thing was all said they weren't nasty eggs... just green yolk :)
or your hen just really likes Dr. Seuss!!
