from the description of the "Green queen" it's just an easter egger with a bit of silkie since it can have feathered legs and 5 toes.
I suspect that it's a product of crossing a blue laying breed with a Faverolles. Based on the photos, that's what it looks like to me, anyway.![]()
I’m glad you posted this. I have two green queens and I could have sworn they were mixed with silkie since they both have black skin and feathered legs. But couldn’t find anything that says what they are mixed with...from the description of the "Green queen" it's just an easter egger with a bit of silkie since it can have feathered legs and 5 toes. just like any other easter egger is might lay the colour they say it will but also might not.
Hatchery Olive eggers (from meyer atleast) are meant to be first generation crosses of a blue layer and a dark brown layer so theoretically if they use pure parental stock they should lay olive so these would be better to get if you want green eggs. Appearance wise it depends on if they uses Ameraucana or Cream Legbar as the blue laying parent
Sapphire gems are a hybrid that lays brown eggs

I have a Green Queen, and I believe she's part Faverolle, part Easter Egger/Ameraucana. Zero chance of silkie in her. She has five toes, and muffs that developed as the weeks went by. She started out EXTREMELY similar to my Dominiques and Barred Rocks. It was very difficult to distinguish them apart. She's extremely quiet and shy. She was raised the same as the rest of my flock-a lot of handling, brooder next to my bed, hand feeding of treats daily but she's not a fan of humans, and she is at the bottom of the pecking order. When I give the flock of all docile breeds like Rocks, Orps, Cochins, Welsummer, Brahma morning scrambled eggs, I must hand her some directly or she won't get any. She's very sweet. And I love her jet black color, dark eyes and legs/beak. I can't wait for Sammi to start laying green eggs!
