In the Brooder
Hello from SE Minnesota!
I found this group multiple times when reading into different things that happen in back yard chicken flocks. I figured it was time to join the chat and forum.
We will have had our current flock of 2 roosters and 21 hens as of last September 2023. We now have 9 more, 6 week old chicks we are slowly integrating to the new flock.
Over all our flock does pretty well. We built our own coop out of recycled/up-cycled materials all last summer which I have shared on my Instagram trying to keep in mind all of the different needs our chickens have. They are spoiled and treated like pets for the most part.
I’m here for sharing information and experiences I have in addition to learning from others as well.
Breeds we have include hardy winter duel purpose birds: Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Buff Orpington, X-Link Black Star, Black Laced Red Wayandotte, Olive Eggers, Easter Eggers, Speckled Sussex.
