First year I grew pumpkins, I got about 7 pumpkins. The next year I kept trimming the vines back to keep them from taking over the garden and got 33 pumpkins from the same number of plants. I have been cutting vines back ever since and get lots of pumpkins.

Nice! I’ve heard of pruning the vines, and we should really try that next year. We planted them a little close, and the squash beetles found them, so they weren’t happy this year.

You should try them with green tomato relish.

We still have some of that from 2020, I think. I hope it’s still all right. It’s sealed and I just checked all the jars a couple months ago. They looked fine.

Lucky. They’ve really attacked our acorn squash lately, but there’s really no point in killing them now. We’ve just got a couple squashes left on the plant. We always rototill the garden in fall, so there won’t really be a place for them to overwinter, thankfully.

Well, that’s why we rotate crops. Hopefully they can’t survive more than one winter.
