We are fairly new to guinea. We hatched out several last year and kept the more interesting colors. Now I would like some help identifying them. :) Thanks!

The one in back I believe is Coral Blue. What is the one in front? She is paler in real life.

Brown?

Coral Blue?

Brown? Buff dundotte?

Lavender.

Brown again?

I would agree with you on your coral blue and lavender guineas. I am sorry that I cannot help you identify your other colors. Unfortunately the person (PeepsCA) who could very easily your guinea colors is no longer posting on BYC. Hopefully someone else can help you.

The bird in the back is definitely a Coral Blue, but the Hen in front is difficult to ID from that pic because she looks to be showing both Blue hues and tan hues... and to me she looks too light to be considered a Lite Lavender, so my guess on her would be Porcelain if she appears to be blue based, or she's a lighter colored Buff Dundotte if she's tan based. If you can check the color of the feather shafts on the underside of her wings you should be able to see either a pale grey/blue hue (blue based) or a creamy pale tan hue (tan based) towards the ends of the shafts.

Brown?

Yes, this is a Brown.

Coral Blue?

Yes, these are Coral Blues.

Brown? Buff dundotte?

In my flocks, the Brown males are typically a little lighter than the Brown Hens, so if this is a male I'd say Brown. If it's a Hen (which is what it looks like to me) then I'd lean more towards her being a Cinnamon (tho some breeders would still consider her to be a Brown). She may end up lightening quite a bit, but still looks too dark to be a Buff Dundotte. Color shades can vary from bloodline to blood line and some will fade more from the sunlight than others do, so not every bird ID'd as a specific color will always look identical. Browns and Cinnamons are much easier to get a more accurate ID on when they are still fuzzy little keets and I can see the colors of the head and body markings.

Lavender.

Yes, definitely a Lavender.

Brown again?

Definitely, a Brown male. Look at all that "male-tude" he has goin' on there, lol.
And in case you didn't already know this... the bird in the background looks like a Blonde to me (some breeders will insist that is a Chocolate tho, lol).
Hope that helps, Beautiful birds!

That is some good info! It is still shocking to me all the colors you can get when you have a mixed flock. I had NONE of those types of browns in my flock but hatched all these great colors! Cool..... now if I could just find the eggs and free range

Can't wait to see what I get this year with the new colors.

Let me know what colors you get from them this year..... PLEASE!
