Guinea fowl egg

Unless you are providing supplemental light, it is early for guineas in the northern hemisphere to be laying. Normal time for them to start laying is still a month or two away.

I would not add eggs to the incubator as they are laid. Save them up for a week and them put them in as a batch.
I have been actually giving my guineas light, we keep heat lamps in where they roost because where I live it has been getting down into single digits and this was actually the guineas first time seeing snow and they refuse to touch it, I don't blame them, when they can. I was thinking that it was probably the heat lamps that has brought on some early laying for both my guineas and ducks. Thank you for the help though!

Guineas are very cold hardy if you don't provide them with supplemental heat. Giving them supplemental heat prevents them from adjusting to the cold temperatures.

I did not give my guineas supplemental heat and they did fine in temperatures that got as cold as -40°F.

Ducks with their down feathers are even more cold hardy.

You are correct about guineas and their first time with snow. If they get up into the trees, you need to use hay or straw to build a landing zone for them as they will not land on snow.

OMG I had no idea they were that good in cold weather! Ours seem somewhat pampered. I have heard that guineas are not very friendly towards humans but that makes it a bit easy to let the go free range wherever. Ours for some reason follow us around everywhere and if they can see us through our patio door (it is glass, so they have a good view) they come right up to it and squawk and even peck on the door. Is it this usual for them to want to be around humans at all? My friend who gave us them raises a lot of guineas and she says all of hers are mean and mine will let me pick them up rarely without a struggle (typically if I need to get them inside and they're being stubborn).

The difference is in how you raised them. Yours have been human imprinted. They do not understand that you are not a guinea.

Looks like a chicken egg to me.

In the northern hemisphere, guineas don't normally begin laying until mid March.
Looks like a chicken egg to me also. Guinea eggs have a more oval shape. Here’s a pic of a chicken egg beside the Guinea egg and one of just the Guinea egg. You can definitely see the difference. Hope this helps. Oh, my Guinea started laying in August 2024.
